Beyoncé’s foray into country music has resulted in another career win, as she earned her second-highest nomination at the upcoming People’s Choice Country Music Awards.
According to Billboard, Bey has a total of 17 nominations at the upcoming awards show, just two less than country star Zach Bryan.
Her first two singles from her genre album Cowboy Carter, “16 Carriages” and “Texas Hold ‘Em,” were both nominated for 2024 Female Song. Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” and The Beatles’ “Blackbird” — including rising country star Brittney Spencer ), Reyna Roberts, Tanner Adell and Tiera Kennedy.
Mrs. Knowles-Carter is also nominated for 2024 People’s Artist, 2024 Social Country Star, 2024 Album, 2024 Song (“Texas Hold ‘Em”), 2024 Song Collaboration (“Blackbird”), 2024 Crossover songs (“II Most Wanted,” her duet with Miley Cyrus) and 2024 storytelling songs (“16 Carriage”).
While Post Malone didn’t receive a song nomination for his performance in Cowboy Carter’s “Levii’s Jeans,” he received six nominations of his own, five of them for his collaboration with Morgan Wallen on “I Had Some Help.”
All winners of the People’s Country Music Awards – which describe themselves as “the people’s awards show, by the people” – will be decided by fan votes during a rather tight voting period, which begins on Wednesday, August 13 ) and ends next Friday (August 23).
All votes entered on Tuesday, August 20 (also known as “Turbo Tuesday”) will be counted twice. Fans can view the full list of nominees, eligibility guidelines and vote at VotePCCA.com.
While Beyoncé has received her fair share of criticism, she’s also received widespread love from the country music community.
Earlier this summer, some of her classic pop and R&B songs gained traction in country music, thanks to several rising black singers in the genre.
As part of Apple Music’s “Nashville Sessions” series, Beyoncé Covered features Brittney Spencer, Tanner Adell, Joy Oladokun, BRELAND and more to perform hits including “1+1,” “Drunk in Love,” “Irreplaceable,” “ Sandcastles,” “Most Wanted II” and “Halo.”
“Beyoncé opened a door that was hard to close,” Tiera Kennedy, who also appears on the six-song playlist, told Apple Music.

“Cowboy Carter” has been a huge success since its release in March. The album debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 with 407,000 equivalent album sales in its first week, setting up the biggest sales week of 2024 at the time – although it has since been surpassed by Taylor Swift’s latest effort.
23 of the album’s 27 songs also charted on the Billboard Hot 100, bringing the Houston native’s career Billboard Hot 100 total to 106. The third woman to have more than 100 songs.
