Beyoncé will headline the halftime show between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans on Christmas Day next month. Netflix announced the show on social media Sunday night. Along with the announcement, Netflix also shared a video of Beyoncé with her song “American Requiem” playing in the background. This will be the first time the streaming service will host an NFL game.
The news sparked an outpouring of interest from fans on social media. Responding to the news on Instagram, one user wrote: “Girl I just woke up the whole neighborhood.” Another added: “One thing this woman did when she left was drop some stuff and then bring the internet online.”

Netflix aired Friday night’s game between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul ahead of the streaming service’s Christmas Day NFL game. The experience wasn’t great for many users on social media, who complained about buffering and lag issues. In response to Beyoncé’s statement, one user on Instagram wrote: “Netflix just proved they can’t handle a boxing match. Do they want to try this? I mean I’ll watch it, but get your problems out of the way first!” Except Texas In addition to the Ravens-Ravens game, Netflix will also be streaming early games between the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers.
