Beyoncé finally won her first Emmy for the Netflix Special “Beyoncé Bowl” Tuesday (August 12), a Western-style half-scene, airing the 2024 NFL Christmas showdown between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans in the 2024 NFL Christmas game.
The award is shared with her creative team for outstanding costumes in various books, nonfiction or reality shows, including costume designers Shiona Turini, Erica Rice and Molly Peters, clothing director Chelsea Staebell and studio head Timothy White.
The performance of “Beyoncé Bowl” features her country album “Cowboy Carter.”
Especially the appearance of her daughters Blue Ivy Carter, Post Malone and Shaboozey. The show is Netflix’s first live NFL halftime game ever and pays homage to Texas rodeo culture and Black Southern and Western history.
More than 500 performers participated in the competition, including dancers, cultural figures and an African-American parade band across the United States.
The performance helped the game attract 27 million viewers, making it the most watched NFL game since 2001. Within 10 days of release, Netflix reported over 50 million specials.
Despite being nominated 10 times in the past, this marks Beyoncé’s first Emmy win.
She already has 35 Grammys in her collection, and she is now on Egot status and can complete the Elite Quartet with just one Oscar and Tony.
She also participated in two other Emmy Awards in 2025: Outstanding Variety Show (Live) and was outstanding for the special guidance of the “Beyoncé Bowl”.
The Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony will be held in early September 2025, followed by the Primetime Emmy Awards later that month.
