Sexy Red said that despite her past support of Donald Trump, she would not support anyone running for president. The polarizing rapper defended himself after using a stage prop similar to Trump’s MAGA hat.
“This is the Sexy Red 4 President,” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “I am my own candidate and I will not support anyone else.”
She later posted “Make America Sexy Again.” It’s the same slogan on her stage props.

Sexyy Red discussed her love for Trump in a 2023 interview with comedian Theo Von. She praised Trump for approving the economic stimulus package during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I like Trump,” she said. “Yes, they were behind him behind the scenes. At first, I don’t think people had a good impression of him. They thought he was racist and rarely said s### to women. But once he started letting black people out of jail and giving People free money, wow baby, we love Trump. We need him back in office because, baby, they’re gonna check. Trump, we miss you. I like Trump… but I love Trump. He’s funny to me… He’s funny! We need people like him.
On May 30, Trump was convicted of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.
A New York judge will sentence Trump on July 11.
Trump, the first U.S. president to be convicted of a crime, is awaiting trial in three other criminal cases. Two of the cases related to electoral interference. One of them related to his mishandling of confidential documents. Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges. The remaining trials are not expected to begin before the 2024 presidential election.
