Some of these co-signs lead to collaborations, and some simply enhance the profile of the artist mentioned. Octavian falls into the latter camp. The French-British rapper has been a fan of the Toronto superstar since 2018, when he was seen singing his song at a Golden Globes party. Octavian has struggled ever since, but Drake still seems to be a fan.
Drake posted a snippet of Octavian’s new single “I See You” on Instagram Stories on May 23. The song has gained traction online, and once you hear it, you’ll understand why Drizzy loves it. “I See You” contains a recognizable sample of Drake’s 2020 song “Chicago Freestyle.” The sample loops underneath the verse, but the given chorus from the original does appear on Octavian’s hook. It’s a cool choice for a sample, as it’s known as one of Drake’s most underrated songs.

Drake is a big fan of Octavian’s single “I See You”
Octavian took advantage of the outcry and posted a screenshot of Drake’s IG Story on his account. He simply tagged him @champagnepapi with a sword and black heart emoji. Octavian was lucky in his timing, as Drake was paying attention to him now more than ever. The world is waiting to see how Liushen will deal with losing the Kendrick Lamar battle. The answer, it seems, is to act like it doesn’t bother him. Drake popped up during a WNBA game the week of May 19th.
To downplay the fight, Drake appeared on the Sexxy Red single “U My Everything.” He covered the viral “BBL Drizzy” beat and flipped the meaning of the Metro Boomin version, suggesting that he could hook girls up with BBL if they wanted to. The new single is set to achieve impressive results. That said, it wasn’t as well-received as Drake had hoped.
