BG has handed his lyrics over to a judge for review ahead of a hearing next month to address supervised release violations.
BG hands lyrics to judge
BG is currently involved in a legal battle over whether he has breached release supervision conditions by collaborating with Boosie BadAzz and collaborating with Gucci Mane on the album. According to court documents obtained by XXL on Wednesday (May 22), Eastern District of Louisiana Judge Susie Morgan granted prosecutors’ request to require BG to hand over lyrics to songs he recorded since his release from a halfway house in January 2024. Confirmed with BG’s attorney that he had complied with the order.
The Cash Money rapper is scheduled for a performance hearing on June 18, where a judge will decide whether BG violated the terms of his supervised release and determine whether the rapper’s future lyrics must be approved by his probation officer.

BG encountered difficulties after returning to society
Last September, BG, whose real name was Christopher Dorsey, was released from prison after serving 11 years for gun possession and witness tampering. Shortly after his release from prison, he graduated from the Hope for Prisoners program and released a joint album with Gucci Mane called Choppas & Bricks last December.
He was arrested in March for violating his probation, with prosecutors claiming BG violated federal law by performing with Boosie at a show in Las Vegas on February 8. Albums with Mane were also banned. BG’s attorney denies the rapper was assaulted and says he has permission to perform with Boosie.
However, prosecutors are now urging a judge to investigate BG’s lyrics, which they claim are not representative of a man fully trying to re-enter society. They have filed a motion asking a judge to force BG to turn over all future lyrics to probation officers for approval.
