Cassie’s attorney criticized Sean “Diddy” Combs’ apology video, saying the hip-hop mogul only apologized after his repeated denials of abusing Cassie proved untrue.
Cassie’s lawyer slams Diddy’s apology video
On Sunday (May 19), Cassie Ventura’s attorney, Meredith Firetog of Wigdor LLP, issued a statement slamming Diddy’s recent apology video. Cassie’s attorneys noted in their statement that the Bad Boy Entertainment founder only felt remorse after his long-standing denials of ever abusing Cassie were revealed to be untrue.
“Combs’ recent statements say more about himself than the many people he has harmed,” the statement read. “When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested His victims were looking for a payday, and it was only after his repeated denials were proven wrong that he was forced to ‘apologise’, which shows his pathetic desperation that no one else will.

Diddy releases video apologizing for abusing Cassie
Before Cassie’s attorney released a statement, Diddy posted an apology video on his Instagram page expressing his remorse for Cassie’s abusive behavior. Previously, CNN obtained surveillance footage from 2016 showing him brutally attacking his then-girlfriend Cassie at a Los Angeles hotel.
“It’s very difficult to reflect on the darkest moments in life, but sometimes you have to,” Diddy begins in his video, which can be watched below.
“I sucked – I hit rock bottom – but I have no excuse. My actions in that video are inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video,” he continued.
“I was disgusted when I did it. I’m disgusted now. I went to seek professional help. I started therapy, went to rehab. I had to pray for God’s mercy and grace.”
“I’m sorry. But I work on becoming a better person every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry,” Diddy concluded.
