Slim Thug admits he owes Cassie an apology after a video of Diddy attacking her emerged.
The Houston rap star took to Instagram on Friday (May 17) to express his thoughts on the horrific footage, after spending time defending the embattled hip-hop mogul in the past.
Slim shared a screenshot of a New York Post report covering the incident and wrote: “Damn Diddy [palm on face emoji] I tried riding with the Blk man who hasn’t been charged yet but I can’t stand this [mouth zipped emoji] I want this L
“But I’m still going to ride with my guys until I see some kind of proof, I don’t believe blogs or civil lawsuits
“Apologies to Cassie and everyone else who was on the right side this time. [three prayer hands emoji]”.
Despite the apology, many commenters were upset by Thug’s initial disrespect.
One user wrote: “Apologizing sounds like disrespect.”
Another added: “You should make an apology video like you blame her. [eye roll emoji] Sometimes it’s best to keep your opinions to yourself, especially on issues like abuse.
A third said: “Sometimes it pays to sit back and reserve your opinion until you know all the facts.”

The “Three Kings” rapper settled an explosive lawsuit with Cassie in November 2023, with his post coming one day after a video surfaced of Diddy punching Cassie.
In disturbing new footage obtained by CNN on Friday (May 17), a man identified as the embattled tycoon can be seen at the now-shuttered Intercontinental in Los Angeles, California. He ran out of the hotel room wearing only a towel.
The incident, which took place in 2016, then cuts to Diddy grabbing Cassie by the neck and throwing her to the floor. He then kicked her repeatedly, took her personal belongings, kicked her again and ran back to the hotel room.
The “Me and You” singer then tried to use the hotel phone to call for help, prompting the bad boy mogul to push her to the ground again. He was then seen sitting on a hotel chair wearing nothing but a towel and throwing what appeared to be a vase in her direction.
Thug’s apology dates back to 2023, when he spoke out about Cassie after she accused Diddy of rape and domestic abuse in a lawsuit.
The Houston rapper suggested on Instagram that Cassie filed the lawsuit for financial gain, saying: “They’re back for Bill Cosby, they’re back for Puff — I don’t believe that, man.
“When something happens, just be there and talk about it, otherwise it should be ineffective. You shouldn’t do anything unless you let people know what happened right away. There should be a time limit on this kind of thing.
“What happened is […]you have been having sex with a billionaire with all this bread, and then you have sex with a coach as you please.
He added: “That apartment got smaller, the lifestyle got worse, now it’s time to struggle, the love fades away, now you’re trying to figure out how to get paid.” […] Don’t try to expose people for money.
In another video the rapper made after receiving criticism for his comments, he apologized to Cassie, saying, “That’s my personal opinion. I’m sorry we can’t agree on everything… I don’t hate Cassie , I didn’t even know Cassie was black.
