Chrisean Rock, best known in the entertainment industry for her association with rapper Blueface and her appearances on reality TV shows, has found herself embroiled in legal trouble. James Wright Chanel, a backup singer for acclaimed artist Tamar Braxton, filed a lawsuit against Rock, alleging assault stemming from an altercation at a concert last November.
According to RadarOnline, the lawsuit was served in person while Rock was attending a local high school football game. Process servers were able to locate her based on a social media post in which she revealed her whereabouts at Cathedral High School in Los Angeles.
Chanel’s accusation details a disturbing incident backstage at a Braxton concert in which Rock, aka Christian Malone, allegedly physically assaulted him. The row allegedly broke out after Rock was denied the chance to perform music at the event.
Chris Rock’s Response
Despite the seriousness of the allegations, Rock, who recently celebrated her first Mother’s Day, has yet to issue a public response. Instead, she chose to share intimate moments with her son on social media, providing insight into her personal life amid mounting legal challenges.
Meanwhile, Chanel’s attorney Kevin Anderson stressed the seriousness of the situation, noting that Chanel was injured during the altercation. According to Anderson, Locke’s actions resulted in two of Chanel’s teeth being broken and facial injuries.
In March, Chanel spoke about the emotional toll of the incident in a candid interview on the Jst Us podcast, calling it a traumatic event. He expressed confusion and distress over the attack, revealing it left him struggling with intense emotions and insomnia.
While Rock’s personal milestones, including her journey to motherhood, have drawn attention, the lawsuit has cast a pall over her recent celebrations. As legal proceedings unfold, industry insiders and fans alike await further developments on the matter, eager for clarification and resolution.
