According to reports, the security guard was shot in the upper chest and was unconscious when authorities arrived. He was then taken to Toronto’s Sunnybrook Hospital and underwent emergency surgery upon arrival. A source who spoke to the outlet said the wound was not life-threatening.
Toronto Police Operations first reported news of the shooting on its X account around 7 a.m. The tweet contained the message that a shooting had occurred near Bayview Avenue and Lawrence Avenue in the city and that an unidentified suspect was still at large. At a press conference after the shooting, Inspector Paul Krawczyk of the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force confirmed that a security guard was injured. He said Drake and his team are in contact with authorities.

When asked about Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s feud over the shooting, the inspector said: “I know what you’re talking about, but it’s still early in the investigation. We don’t have a motive to do this at that time.” .
XXL confirmed to Toronto police that around 2 a.m., officers responded to a call about a shooting and found a security guard with a gunshot wound outside a home on Park Lane Circle. The car fled the scene and the security guard remained standing outside the residence. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains hospitalized.
