Missy Elliott expands her musical horizons as the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer announces she will star in Pharrell Williams’ new movie musical, directed by Michelle Directed by Michel Gondry.

According to Deadline , “Misdemeanor” will star in the yet-to-be-titled feature film, which is described as a “coming-of-age” film set in Virginia Beach in the summer of 1977.

The film also stars Kevin Harrison Jr., Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Halle Bailey and Oscar nominee Brian Tyree Henry.

As of this writing, it’s unclear when the film will be released.

Fans who can’t wait to see Missy Elliott in the movie can check out her tour this summer.

Earlier this month, the pioneering rapper announced an Out of This World tour with support from Busta Rhymes, Timbaland and Ciara.

Missy’s first headlining tour will take the foursome through 24 cities across North America this summer, starting in Vancouver on July 4th.

From there, Missy and her colleagues. It will make stops in cities such as Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, New York and Toronto before concluding in Rosemont, Illinois on August 22.

The tour’s comedic trailer shows Missy, Busta and CiCi emerging from a giant spaceship in alien costumes, with the narrator saying: “In 2024, these three icons come together to show you some of your Something never seen before.

However, the trio soon realize they’ve landed on the wrong planet, with Bussus taking responsibility: “Oh crap! I quickly took a wrong turn on Mars.”

Missy then called Timber and rerouted the voyage to its intended destination: Earth.

The trailer was directed by Dave Meyers, the award-winning director of the iconic Missy films “Get Ur Freak On” and “One Minute Man.”

“This is an incredible time in my life as I am experiencing so many monumental ‘firsts,'” Elliott said in a press release. “As the first female hip-hop artist inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I now embark on my first headlining tour.

“Fans have been asking me to tour forever, but I wanted to wait until I felt the time was right because I knew if I was going to do it, I had to do it big, and I had to do it with my family!

“So get ready to leave this world with me, Busta Rhymes, Ciara and Timbaland! We can’t wait to share this experience with our fans!
