Over the past few weeks or so, Lupe Fiasco has been playing the role of the pot stirrer. The legendary lyricist from the Windy City has actually been goading Kendrick Lamar into responding to him. The “Show Goes On” host clarified the meaning behind a series of tweets, saying he was one of the rappers to publicly apologize to K-Dot. Essentially, he’s actually taking back his decision because he doesn’t feel like he needs to be a part of it. He didn’t try to deny that he felt Lamar was just “reliable.” Lupe Fiasco also took a subliminal jab at Lamar on the Coachella stage, which his new single “Indio” is partly based on.
Midway through his performance, Lupe announced that he was willing to go head-to-head with any rapper. “I don’t know how many records you sold. If you want a smoke, I swear on my soul, I’ll wear n****s. I’ll chew n****s, I’ll body muthaf* **as,” Lupe shouted. In his time, the proud rapper has announced that his new album, Samurai, will be released sometime this summer, HipHopNMore reports.

So far he’s dropped “LLC,” a lyrically dense song that showcases his elite penmanship. This might be the first single from Samurai and now we might have the second single “Indio”. It’s another bombastic statement from Lupe, which features bars like, “At least, at least those niggas know your name/They come out of the woodwork/Tell the wolf that a brick ain’t how wood works/Low down on me The production is very mellow in comparison and features calm guitar loops.

Quoting lyrics:
I took the wagyu to the top floor
Then I take my time like I’m Walker Four
What’s the point if we don’t leave?
There is a residue that cannot be washed off
I’m not worried about your top speed
Give you a Martin, want a Luther or a Lockheed?
