Ant Dog is a 35-year-old emcee from California, best known for being 1/2 Madopelli and has several solo albums to date in The Devil’s Deal and Here 2 Stay. Madopelli signed with Lyrikal Snuff Productionz a year and a half ago, and their last few LPs have gone down as some of the best records of their career, so Ant Dog is releasing his third solo effort via LSP to coincide with MAD Putter is The plausibly self-titled MAD (Me Against Death) is also released later this weekend.
After the intro, first song “Sunday Service” is a trap opener with organ and talks about hanging a cross around your neck, while “Sacrifice” features Scum working over some strings and hi-hats , so they both admit that memories of the past bring them to their knees sometimes. “World with No Sun” forays into trap metal, telling the story of rolling with the lost, while Madopelli’s lead single “Lifeless” joins forces for a song of unholy madness.
“Stay Away” hauntingly asks you if you can help him through this maze, before he plunges into work on the futuristic “Death from Below,” which he calls “life is worth more hi-hats.” “Blood Remains” another attempt at using trap metal to talk about silence ultimately got us nowhere, but then “Poison” reunited Madopelli for a fusion of heavy guitars and hi-hats that looked at the darkness in one’s eyes.
Str8 Krazed joins Ant on orchestral/trap crossover song “Feel the Same” to talk about the fact that they don’t know why they do what they do, while sickly “Damned” featuring Bloody Ruckus finds the 2 clarifying that no matter what Everyone deserves to die. The last song before the ending song “Come Home” is sung by Rozz Dyliams, who ends “Sadistic Symphony” with a heavy guitar, and there is definitely not much time to talk about it.
“The Devil’s Deal” and “Here 2 Stay” were both great examples of Ant Dog’s solo prowess, but Sadistic Symphony really takes it to the next level, becoming his most crafted solo material to date and “MAD (Me) 》Fighting Death) I will definitely do the same thing tomorrow. With improved production, he shows off his artistic versatility and all features bring freshness to the table.
