Key Glock was recently arrested on a felony charge in Atlanta, something the rapper himself captured on live stream and spoke to countless fans around the world.
The web series kicked off on Thursday (March 28) when Ky Glock showed live footage of himself being detained in the back of an Atlanta police car. The police officer told the rapper (real name Markeyvius Cathey) that he would be ticketed for marijuana possession.
“Just because of the smell of weed,” police said. “There’s a little bit of weed in the little wing bag in the car. But it’s just a ticket. About the same as 3.5 [grams]”.
But the guns found in the rapper’s car during the traffic stop raised a bigger question, as they led to a deeper investigation and the discovery of two open arrest warrants for the rapper.
“It says they will pick you up within 50 miles of Sandy Springs,” police said. “We’re within 50 miles. So, they might want you, man.”
Ky Glock was initially pulled over because his skin was too dark and later charged with two felonies on an open warrant.

The Atlanta Police Department confirmed the arrest of Ky Glock in a statement to XXL.
“Cathey was arrested on March 28 during a traffic stop at 1960 Piedmont Rd NE on an out-of-jurisdiction warrant and possession of marijuana,” the statement read. “A report detailing the arrest is still being completed. middle.”
News of the rapper’s arrest brings frustration to a career that had shown promise outside of hip-hop.
Earlier this year, the rapper’s short film “Let’s Go” was voted “Video of the Year” by fans in previews.
On January 11, the Paper Route artist shared a trailer for the film ahead of its January 16 premiere. The action-packed clip combines all the elements of a feature-length action movie, including fight scenes, building explosions, sports cars and even “Power” star Alix Capri as Glock’s female lead.
“Glock Schwarzenegger,” one fan commented. Another wrote: “Video of the year fasho.”
Other comments included: “This damn looks like a movie trailer,” and “There’s nothing he can’t do!” ” and, “Oh my God, you’re terrible at making movies?!!!! Damn it, Brody!”
“Let’s Go” is included on the deluxe edition of Key Glock’s Glockoma 2 album, released in June 2023. Prior to this song, other singles released from the LP include “Presidential Rolex,” “No Hook,” and “In And Outta Town.”
This project doesn’t have any features – and for good reason. Just before the album’s release, Glock shared a painful experience of being ghosted while asking for lyrics on a song early in his career.
“My first breakout song, everyone knew Key Glock,” he told Ebro Darden on Apple Music’s Rap Life show. “Dolph wanted me to remix it. I was like, ‘Who did you have in mind?’ “He mentioned two people to me, and I was like, ‘Well, there’s another guy I definitely know who’s already made it big because of who he is, his fan base, and the machine behind him.”
He continued, “I thought, ‘Don’t just ask him, we’re going to give him something.'” I gave him a million dollars, literally a million dollars. Before I really have it all, I’m going to give him the entire million. After all this time, I don’t know why they never say no, or they don’t want to do it, or I do it later. Just no response. “
