In a recent conversation with E! News, Tracy Morgan clarified his previous statement about weight gain while taking Ozempic.
The famous comedian found himself caught up in a wave of confusion and speculation after appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where Tracy Morgan humorously claimed that he had managed to gain 40 pounds despite using weight management drugs .
Morgan stressed his comments were made in jest.
“Ozempic has worked great for me and I’m happy to be using it,” said Morgan, 55, dispelling concerns about his initial comments and expressing satisfaction with the results he’s achieved with the drug.
Before that, he light-heartedly told Fallon: “I eat better than Ozempic. I gained 40 pounds. I’m like Magic Johnson.”
Ozempic, a drug primarily approved to help adults with type 2 diabetes control blood sugar, has been used for weight loss due to its ability to increase insulin production and reduce appetite.
While the drug wasn’t originally intended for diet or weight management, its effects attracted attention because of its additional benefits, which made Morgan’s initial claims even more surprising.
The actor, known for his roles on “Saturday Night Live” and “30 Rock,” joked about the impact of ozone on his eating habits.
He lightened the mood by saying it cut his appetite in half, quipping, “Now I only eat half a bag of Doritos.”
