The Department of Homeland Security raided Diddy’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami on Monday (March 25), prompting countless jokes about his legal troubles.
Social media users seized the opportunity to mock Diddy and hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, who has nothing to do with Diddy’s current situation.
According to NBC News, Diddy is under federal investigation. He faces charges of sexual assault and sex trafficking.
Fans imagined Diddy leaving the United States to join Simmons in Bali, but they were wrong.
Diddy may indeed have left the United States on Monday (March 25), but his plane has been tracked to the Caribbean island of Antigua rather than Bali, where Russell Simmons lives.
Simmons has come under scrutiny for allegedly fleeing to Bali after being accused of rape and sexual misconduct years ago. One of his accusers claimed he traveled to Bali to avoid prosecution. A spokesperson for Simmons denied the allegation in 2019.
“The anonymous plaintiff is false when she claims that Mr. Simmons is hiding in Bali, a country with which the United States does not have any extradition treaty, as is her other allegations against Mr. Simmons, which she claims occurred 31 years ago,” said the statement. People say. “Similarly, the allegation that Mr. Simmons traveled to Bali multiple times over the years but has not returned in the last year on multiple occasions is also false. In fact, Mr. Simmons has been in and out of the United States six times in the last year.”
Diddy’s home was raided after multiple women and producer Lil Rod sued him for sexual assault. The lawsuit began in November 2023 when Diddy’s ex-husband Cassie sued him for rape and years of abuse.
The Bad Boy Records founder quickly settled out of court with Cassie, but more women took legal action against him. Two of his accusers noted that they were teenagers at the time of the alleged attacks. Months later, Lil Rod sued Diddy.
The producer said he had evidence that Didi “engaged in serious illegal activity.” Didi denies the accusations.
So far, there has been no confirmation whether Diddy was on his plane in Antigua.
