The Simpsons shenanigans come to life as hip-hop group Cypress Hill and the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) announce they will team up for a concert.

This summer the band will perform with the orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall.

They appeared together in the 1996 episode of the American animated comedy show Homerpalooza.

“This is a dream come true, a collaboration that only The Simpsons could have foreseen,” said Cypress Hill.

In the 1996 episode, Homer takes his kids to a music festival and a staff member asks who “probably ordered” LSO while drunk, before adding: “Cypress Shan, I’m looking in your direction.”

The hip-hop group, known for songs like “I Wanna Get High,” asked the group if they knew their song “Insane In The Brain” before performing their hit together.

In July, California trio B-Real, Sen Dog and Eric Bobo will be joined by the LSO and conductor Troy Miller, who will provide arrangements for the group’s songs, including hits from their 1993 album Black Sunday song.

Cypress Hill said: “We are delighted to be performing with the London Symphony Orchestra in such a prestigious venue as the Royal Albert Hall.”

Kathryn McDowell, managing director of the London Symphony Orchestra, said: “After years of ridicule on social media, many fans may have come to believe this is a pipe dream.

“A big thank you to the creators of The Simpsons for coming up with this idea.”

“It’s been a long time since these two legendary entertainers collaborated in Springfield, but we knew the real show would be worth the wait,” said Lucy Noble, artistic director of entertainment company AEG Presents.

The writers of “The Simpsons” are known for their ability to predict real-world events, most notably suggesting in a 2000 episode that Donald Trump would one day become president.

Cypress Hill, who released her self-titled debut album in 1991, performed three symphony shows in the United States last year.
