Erykah Badu is calling out JAY-Z again after getting caught up in the Beyhive craze in a recent social media post.
Badu took to Twitter (X) on Wednesday (March 20) to post a call-to-action for HOV, asking her to step in and reduce the backlash Bey fans started receiving following her Instagram Story post. The story that sparked the discussion above is simply a repost of the cover art for the “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” singer’s upcoming Cowboy Carter album, which Badu titled “Hmm.”
Fans quickly assumed she was taking issue with Beyoncé’s style choice, as she opted for braided bangs with beads, which has become Badu’s signature hairstyle over the years. As a result, the conversation spread to Twitter, and fans couldn’t hold back.
“Just a heads up…but I let Erykah cook,” one Twitter user wrote in a tweet that included stars with similar hairstyles, including Stevie Wonder.

She started trending on the platform after Badu’s mentions started taking a hit. She was the focus of more than 4,000 tweets, prompting her to seek help.

This isn’t the first time Erykah Badu has found herself in the crosshairs of the Hive. Last August, Badu fired Beyoncé for ruining her style on the Renaissance Tour.
