Rapper Lee Drilly is asking a judge for mercy after facing serious charges as part of a larger crackdown on the G-Side/Drilly gang with ties to Bloods.

Lee Drilly was arrested along with 19 others in June 2022 and accused of participating in a massive, years-long drug distribution network that trafficked substances such as crack cocaine, heroin and fentanyl throughout the Bronx.

The operation focused on and around 2685 Valentine Avenue, a Bronx apartment building turned drug market, authorities outlined.

The gang manufactured large amounts of crack cocaine on the premises and sold it in shifts, effectively creating an open drugs market.

Their actions not only facilitated the widespread distribution of the substance, but also compromised the safety and well-being of the building’s residents, including numerous families and children.

Despite these serious accusations, Lee Delilli’s legal defense filed the case, emphasizing his youth, background and potential for rehabilitation.

Lee Drilly said he was raised by a devoted single mother in challenging circumstances in the Bronx, where the family also struggled with addiction and poverty.

He turned to music as a possible outlet from the cycle of poverty. With his father working as a bodyguard for Bad Boy Records artists in the ’90s, Lee Drilly found solace and ambition in hip-hop, carving out a niche for himself in the Drill rap world with 23,000 Spotify listeners, YouTube ratings, and Instagram followers. Proved this.

“[Lee Drilly’s] Being involved in the current case has made him reflect on what he wants his music to express,” said his lawyer, Mr Philip Hamilton. explain.

“Even though he’s still solving problems facing the community, [Lee Drilly] It’s clear that he doesn’t want to glorify this lifestyle and plans to use his ability to connect with people through music to make it clear to his audience what the impact of this lifestyle is; It’s not something that’s often discussed in music,” Hamilton added.

His defense said his involvement in criminal activity was characterized by naivety rather than malice, influenced by the influence of his brother and a misguided pursuit of credibility during his music career.

Lee Drilly’s involvement in the operation has been described as a minor role, limited to separately recorded transactions, with no direct involvement in acts of violence or possession of firearms.

His legal team is also optimistic about reaching a plea deal related to manslaughter charges after the group shot and killed a rival during a shootout.

Lee Drilly asked for five years rather than a potentially longer period.
