Drake may be on the verge of extending his legendary curse and influencing the outcome of NCAA March Madness from within.
In case you missed it, Drake spent time with the University of Houston men’s basketball team at Selection Sunday, helping them celebrate the No. 1 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament’s South Region. To commemorate the event, team captain Jamal Shead even presented Drake with his own customized jersey.

Tilman J. Ferita, the university’s president and owner of the Houston Rockets, invited Drake to the school to celebrate with the players. Based on Ferita’s comments about Drake’s visit and Houston’s loss to Iowa State (ISU) in the Big 12 Tournament the day before, he was either completely oblivious to the curse or not bothered by it.
“We always want to welcome someone who calls Houston their second home,” Ferita said. “He really wanted to be a part of the community. He was a huge sports fan and played a little bit of basketball.”
Houston will take on the Longwood University Lancers in the first round as they look to bounce back from a 69-40 loss to ISU. As if overcoming such a severe loss wasn’t enough, now it looks like Houston must also overcome the negative sports betting differential that Drake now has. The odds are not looking good for the boys varsity team after Anthony Joshua defeated Drake’s favored heavyweight, Francis Ngannou.
