Womad is a festival like no other, attracting people from all over the world to the picturesque setting of Charlton Park in Wiltshire, where they can enjoy talent from all genres and from every corner of the globe.
This year’s festival will take place from Thursday, July 25 to Sunday, July 28, with artists performing a variety of music including R&B, hip-hop, rap, rock, blues, folk, jazz and more.
Among them are two Latin Grammy Award winners, Bala Desejo and iLe, who are returning to the festival for the second time.
Bala Desejo are a critically acclaimed band from Brazil who are set to bring carnival to Wiltshire, while Puerto Rican singer iLe made a name for herself in alternative hip-hop group Calle 13 and is known for her charming vocals and political lyrics .
They are joined by British hip-hop trio Young Fathers, whose latest album Heavy Heavy has been described by The Guardian as “a unique and thoroughly modern work that has never been possible before”.
In addition to the many musical talents from around the world, Womad also offers many activities for those who want to take a break from singing and dancing.
The festival will include talks from inspirational authors, spoken word poetry performances, physics experiments and a Womad Spa complete with a wood-fired hot tub.
This family-friendly event also offers a series of workshops, a Sunday parade and kid-friendly activities to keep little ones occupied.
The festival is free to everyone under 13, but everyone must have a ticket.
