Legal documents filed today, August 14, 2026, reveal that Tupac Shakur’s estate has countersued Daz Dillinger, claiming the legendary DPG producer actually caused over $1 million in financial losses by stealing unreleased archival material from the vaults. The suit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court this morning.
The estate alleges Daz took over 20 unreleased DAT tapes from the Death Row vault in 1999 and shopped them to third parties without permission. Daz had previously sued the estate claiming he produced “Ambitionz Az A Ridah” without credit. The estate now claims Daz’s actions cost them $1.2M in lost licensing and forced them to pull a planned 2025 deluxe box set.
Daz responded on Instagram Live saying “I made Pac sound, they owe me.” The case adds another legal battle to Tupac’s complex estate as Keefe D’s murder trial begins in Vegas. A hearing is set for September 10.
