A Nevada judge officially allowed Duane “Keefe D” Davis’s self-written memoir to be introduced as evidence as jury selection continues in the landmark Tupac Shakur assassination trial on August 10, 2026. Judge Carli Kierny ruled that Compton Street Legend can be read to jurors as a party admission. The ruling came during day two of jury selection in Clark County.
Keefe D’s memoir details his alleged role in the 1996 shooting, including ordering the hit from the backseat. His defense argued the book was fictionalized for money, earning him $200K. Prosecutors argued it corroborates VladTV interviews where he admitted being in the shooter car. Judge Kierny denied the defense’s hearsay objection.
The decision is a major blow to Keefe D, who formally denied being in Vegas in a filing yesterday. Over 120 jurors have now been screened. If convicted, the 62-year-old faces life without parole in the first ever Tupac murder prosecution.
