One message revealed that Pooh Shiesty allegedly paid the man $5,000 to help rob and kidnap Gucci Mane.
On Tuesday (July 14), prosecutors in the case responded to Vinnie’s co-defendant Terrence Rogers’ request for a detention hearing. In it, the government pointed to Rogers’ criminal history and his alleged extensive involvement in the Gucci Mane robbery and kidnapping, and claimed he and others received compensation as a result.
“Rogers’ involvement in this criminal act was not motivated by pure altruism. Rather, Rogers appears to have been compensated for the role he played,” the documents read. The documents also show photos of Rogers flaunting money and showing off a watch that was allegedly taken from a Gucci Mane employee during the January 10 incident.
The document also includes a message investigators extracted from Rogers’ phone that suggested the man involved was paid $5,000 for his role in the Guwop robbery.
The message read: “Stupid bastards, y’all lame guys, you paid 5k for a 15 mile piece, y’all bastards.”
Pooh Shiesty, his father, Big30 and six other men were arrested in April and charged with kidnapping and robbing Gucci Mane and others at a Dallas recording studio after they threatened Gucci with a gun to get out of Pooh’s 1017 Records contract.
Pooh Shiesty was refused bail. He is scheduled for a detention hearing on July 21. The trial is scheduled to begin in February next year.
