A photo thought to have been taken by artificial intelligence of Lil Wayne hanging out with pro-gun activist Kyle Rittenhouse has divided the internet.
On Tuesday (July 2), Kyle Rittenhouse posted a photo of himself with Lil Wayne on his X account that appeared to be created by an AI. The 23-year-old conservative captioned the post: “So glad Lil Wayne came to the office yesterday!”
While the AI-generated photo was tongue-in-cheek, it was a popular response to Weezy’s failure to show up in Bangor, Maine to kick off his 20+ year Carter Classic tour. The cancellation led many to express disappointment with the schedule and doubt Wayne’s dedication to his fans.
Turnage has since apologized for his absence. The New Orleans rapper vowed to make up for his absence with future concert dates in a post on his Instagram Story.
“I’m so sorry my fellow Maine fans,” Wayne wrote. “The show will be rescheduled to July 28. Please hold on to your tickets and we will be honored to hold the show on the rescheduled date. More information will be emailed directly to ticket holders.”
“I’d be nothing without you and I can’t wait to come back and give you the show you deserve,” he added.
As for Rittenhouse’s fake photo, it divided fans, largely because Rittenhouse came to national attention in 2020 for shooting three men, killing two of them, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, when he was 17, amid protests and riots over the police shooting of Jacob Blake. In 2021, he went to trial and a jury found him not guilty of all homicide charges. Rittenhouse has since become a firebrand for pro-gun activists and right-wing conservatives. Meanwhile, Lil Wayne’s views on police and racism have led many to believe he may have hidden conservative leanings.
“Lil Wayne looks like he’s in pain and it’s really sad. It’s cool for you to be bent like this, it just shows how desperate you are,” one user on X wrote.
Another commented, “Craziest crossover ever…Lil Wayne + Kyle Rittenhouse in the same room, not something on my 2026 bingo card. Should be a fun clay shoot!”
“It’s always disappointing to see self-made rappers who grew up at the bottom and become Republicans,” a third said, seemingly taking aim at Lil Wayne.
Another fan wrote: “Bru… I literally had to cut ties with my goat because he was with a chubby military cosplayer? Honestly, what the hell is 2026 about?”
Finally, this photo appears to be fake, so we probably won’t be seeing a Weezy and Rittenhouse collaboration anytime soon.
