Chicago rapper Mello Buckzz, also known as Pretty Opp, was arrested Monday on weapons charges following a traffic stop on the city’s Southwest Side.
According to CPD, officers pulled her over for a moving violation. During the stop, K-9 alerted to the vehicle. A search uncovered a loaded handgun under the driver’s seat. The gun was reported stolen out of Indiana.
Buckzz was booked on unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and possession of a stolen firearm. She appeared in bond court Tuesday. The judge set bail at $50K.
The arrest comes just days after she dropped a viral studio freestyle on IG, with fans calling for a “Free Buckzz” campaign before charges were even filed. Her team has not released a statement.
This is not her first legal issue. Court records show a 2024 case that ended in probation. Illinois has strict gun laws, and stolen firearm charges carry mandatory minimums.
Fans are already spamming “Free Pretty Opp” under her last post. The Chicago scene is watching closely.
