Veteran radio personality and television host Big Tigger is in legal trouble. Atlanta police confirmed Tuesday that Tigger, real name Darian Morgan, was arrested on charges of battery and cruelty to children.
The arrest stems from a domestic investigation after his wife was treated for injuries. Police reports say officers were called to their Atlanta home Monday night. Following interviews and evidence review, warrants were issued.
Tigger posted bond early Tuesday morning. His legal team released a statement: “Mr. Morgan maintains his innocence and looks forward to clearing his name. We ask for privacy for the family.”
The news shocked fans who know Tigger from BET’s Rap City, V-103 Atlanta, and hosting duties across the industry. He’s been a trusted voice in hip-hop for 25+ years.
Child cruelty charges in Georgia carry serious penalties. The case is now with the Fulton County DA’s office. No court date has been set.
This is a developing story. HHVR will update as more details emerge.
