Mystikal was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to rape earlier this year.
According to a report published by WBRZ on Tuesday (June 12), Misty Carr (born Michael Taylor) was sentenced to 20 years in prison for a 2022 rape that occurred at his home in Prairieville, Louisiana. During the sentencing hearing, the victim asked the judge to give the New Orleans rapper the maximum sentence for beating her, strangling her, pulling out her braids and forcibly raping her in her home.
Mistical was allowed to speak in court after giving a victim impact statement. He attempted to speak to the victim but was ordered to make a statement to the judge.
“If I did this to you, I should get the maximum sentence,” he said in court, looking ahead.
Subsequently, the judge sentenced Mistikal to 20 years in prison for third-degree rape, just five years short of the statutory sentence.
Mystikal was sentenced on March 17, 2026, after pleading guilty to crimes related to the 2022 arrest. The 55-year-old Rymer was originally charged with first-degree rape, which carries a maximum penalty of life in prison, but he pleaded guilty to the lesser charge, WRBZ reported.
