Baby Keem insists he is better than the current trio of rap stars Kendrick Lamar, Drake and J. Cole.
Keem sat down with Elsie Not Elise for an interview on Wednesday (June 10), where he talked about his latest album Ca$ino , creativity, confidence, and more. During the chat, the Las Vegas rapper was asked if he aspires to be a Big Three-level figurehead in hip-hop.
“No. I think it’s like an escape,” Kim replied. “People should stop saying that. I think music is…let me redefine that. No. You’re putting boundaries on it.”
“I want to be one of the greatest players of all time,” he continued. “As for the new generation thing, I think I’m better than the current members of the Big Three. I don’t look at it that way. I’ve never looked at it that way. Yes, there’s age, and of course there’s the new generation… I don’t want to be the best of the weakest. I want to be the best. That should be the mentality of every up-and-comer.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Keem mentioned his inspirations in hip-hop, citing Eminem, Ye, Lil Uzi Vert and XXXTentacion as his biggest influences.
“Die for my motherfucker was inspired by [XXXTentacion],” Kim revealed. “The truth is, I don’t have to be a singer or just a rapper. I can do both at a high level.”
