In a recent interview, Dame Dash finally agreed with Jay-Z and thought it was appropriate to diss Ye in his Roots Picnic freestyle after the Chicago rapper and producer went on a social media rant last year about disrespecting his children.
On Monday (June 8), Art of Dialogue posted a clip on its YouTube page in which Dame Dash discusses a number of topics, including Jaÿ-Z’s hot Roots Picnic freestyle. In the video, Dahm agrees with Hough, criticizing Ye for disrespecting his children in his new freestyle. But the former rap mogul doesn’t think it’s entirely Ye’s fault.
“Yeah, but Kanye is bipolar. He admits he has bipolar disorder. I think people just because he’s famous, they think bipolar disorder is different for broke people and rich people, you know,” Damm explained. “But, yeah, I don’t think I would do that with the kids. I wouldn’t suggest it. I don’t agree with that.”
“Like I would with Kanye, I’d be like, ‘Now you’re going too far.’ But I know he’s sick,” he continued. “So it’s just that the people around him have to care enough about him to know that when he’s triggered and he’s not, not taking his meds, not drinking, not sleeping, the things that he might say could be tragic.”
Dame was referring to Ye’s angry rant in March 2025, when he disrespected Jaÿ-Z and Beyonce’s twin children, Sir and Rumi Carter, by questioning them. The Tangda artist later apologized for his remarks, but the damage had been done.
On May 30, during the Hofgen Picnic freestyle competition that debuted at the Philadelphia Music Festival, Giga appeared to sound a warning to Ye for going out of bounds and attacking him and his family.
“Have you ever heard of a prodigy?/Aren’t you ashamed that my kid is one of them?” he raps. Y’all wanna cause trouble/I’m really in trouble, ask me how/You thugs with your thumbs again/Everybody thinks they’re crazy/You’re not crazy, look how sane he acts in front of me, you’re a shrink. “
