Drake and Future reunited after feuding on Iceman’s new album track “Ran to Atlantic.”
On Friday (May 15), Drizzy finally released his long-awaited Iceman LP, alongside two other albums: Habibti and Maid of Honor. Guest appearances on the “Iceman” album include 21 Savage, Molly Santana and Drake’s former friend and now frenemy Future. Hendrix appears on the song “Running to Atlanta” with Molly Santana. This marks the first time since 2022 that the rappers have appeared on a song together.
Previously, Drake and Future were one of hip-hop’s most dynamic non-group duos, but in 2023, a rift appears to have developed between Drake and Future. In March 2024, Future and Metro Boomin released the album We Don’t Trust You, which included several hidden shots of Drake, as well as the single “Like That”, a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, in which K-Dot savaged Aubrey. The song sparked one of the biggest rap battles in hip-hop history between Drake and Kendrick. This included several diss songs and eventually a lawsuit against Universal Music Group.
Drake hinted in his response song “Push Ups” that he was upset about the consequences of Future being manipulated into conflict with him by Metro Boomin.
In the two years since, neither Drake nor Future have spoken directly about what caused the rift in their friendship, although there has been speculation that a woman was involved. In April, Future was spotted wearing apparel from Drake’s Nike Nocta brand. This sparked speculation that Drake and Future had patched things up behind the scenes and would reunite on Drake’s new album.
