Chris Brown has released an album that is quite possibly his most anticipated project in recent years. Known for his buttery R&B beats, emotional delivery and gorgeous stage presence, Chris Brown crafted this project with the clear intention of setting a standard.
We knew this when he first struck the same pose as Michael Jackson (as well as Teddy Pendergrass and Luther Vandross) for the project’s cover art, but now we can hear and feel it the way he wanted. The album opens slowly, giving each instrument time to breathe, shine and evoke before Chris finally launches into his vocals. Expectations were relieved, brilliantly.
Then there are some features to look out for, which are interesting, to say the least. Chris works well with Leon Thomas and blends styles with Glorilla and Sexxy Red with equal ease. All in all, this album is a refreshing listen. Definitely a project that will captivate listeners over time.
