Prosecutors have played a shocking video showing a Forio murder suspect trying to escape from an interrogation room after being arrested.
On Wednesday (May 6), the ninth day of Foolio’s murder trial, prosecutors played a video of murder suspect Sean Gathright trying to escape from the interrogation room after his arrest in July 2024. Although prosecutors attempted to include the footage in the trial, Guysright’s defense team strongly objected, arguing that the footage was irrelevant and would be prejudicial to Guysright.
In the visual below, Garth Wright can be seen ripping off his ankle monitor. He then became visibly frustrated and tried to leave the interview room, shouting “Let me out!”
Garthright then pulled out a chair, climbed on the table and began tampering with what appeared to be a ceiling vent. After a failed attempt to open a vent, he climbed down from the table before a detective burst into the interrogation room and ordered Guswright to sit in a chair.
Judge Kimberly Fernandez reviewed the video and ruled that only portions of the video, primarily the part where Garth Wright ripped off his ankle monitor, should be shown to the jury.
Sean Gathright is one of four men, including Davion Murphy, Isaiah Chance and Rashad Murphy, on trial for the June 23, 2024, ambush and murder of rapper Foolio in Jacksonville, Florida. Authorities said the killing was part of an ongoing gang war.
A fifth suspect, Alicia Andrews, was convicted of manslaughter in October 2025 for acting as a lookout and stalking the late rapper. Her sentencing was originally scheduled for January but was later postponed.
