After being released from the hospital, Offset shared a heartfelt message about plans to get better after he was shot at a Florida casino.
On Friday (April 10), Offset posted a heartfelt letter to fans on his Instagram page after being released from the hospital this afternoon after being shot on April 6 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. In the letter, the Atlanta rhymer said he was doing well and planned to do better.
“Thank you to everyone who cares about me and shows me love! I’m fine… but I plan on getting better!” he wrote.
“I focused on my family, my recovery, and getting back to music…realizing that life is made up of quiet triumphs and loud failures,” he continued.
“Life is a gamble, and I still play to win,” he concluded.
A spokesperson for Offset released a statement to XXL following his release from Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. The statement is as follows:
“Offset has been discharged from the hospital and is now up and walking. We are extremely grateful to the doctors, nurses and entire hospital staff who have taken such great care of him.”
According to a probable cause affidavit, the shooting occurred after Lil Tjay (who was also at the casino at the time) allegedly got into an argument with Offset, which reportedly led to the Bronx rapper’s co-workers shooting Migos Rhymes. Police said Tjay directed his team to “get into a fight with another group of males, possibly members of Offset’s crew.” Police also claimed Tjay recorded the fight on his cell phone. The fight continued until the police arrived.
Lil Tjay was later arrested for disorderly conduct and operating a vehicle without a driver’s license following the casino shooting. The rapper’s attorney, Dawn Florio, issued a statement denying Tjay’s involvement in the shooting.
