According to reports, police say an associate of Lil Tjay shot Offset after Tjay allegedly incited a fight outside a Florida casino last night.
Lil Tjay allegedly got into a fight with Offset, which reportedly led to the Bronx rapper’s co-workers filming Migos rhyming, police said in a probable cause affidavit, TMZ reported on Tuesday (April 7). Police said the incident occurred at approximately 7:22 pm on Monday (April 6) at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and Lil Tjay was charged with “direct[ing] Members of his party fought against another group of men. “
A review of security footage showed Lil Tjay allegedly got out of his car, recognized Offset and directed his team toward him, documents show. Then the quarrel started. Police also claim Lil Tjay recorded the fight on his cell phone. The fight continued until police arrived.

According to previous reports, Lil Tjay (real name Tione Merritt) was arrested for disturbing the peace and operating a vehicle without a driver’s license following the casino shooting on Monday (April 6). An offset is a shot of a person in the same location. He was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital where he is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
Tjay was released on bail Tuesday. Outside prison, the 24-year-old artist claimed that Offset reported him to the police. Lil Tjay’s attorney, Dawn Florio, released a statement regarding Lil Tjay’s arrest and denied that the rapper was involved in the shooting.
“Lil Tjay was not shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting,” Florio’s statement read. “Any reports to the contrary are false.”
According to NBC 6 South Florida, two people were detained after the incident and are still under investigation. The second detainee has not been charged, and Seminole police are working to identify “the person or persons” involved in the shooting.
