Tekashi 6ix9ine walked out of MDC Brooklyn on Friday morning with something most rappers will never own: a SpongeBob SquarePants doll autographed by the former president of Venezuela.
At the end of his 90-day federal prison sentence, the rapper walked away in high spirits, clutching a collection of documents and signatures that have become one of the most unusual prison souvenirs in recent years.
According to TMZ, 6ix9ine asked Nicolas Maduro to sign the doll while they were both locked up in the same facility, and Maduro even went on a date with it.

The rapper was back in jail last year after he violated his probation after being caught by authorities on suspicion of possessing cocaine and ecstasy.
His three-month sentence in a Brooklyn jail turned into an unexpected networking opportunity when he crossed paths with Maduro. Maduro has been detained in Venezuela since the U.S. military rescued him from Venezuela in January.
The pair’s unlikely prison friendship became the focus of his release day celebrations.
In footage from his release, 6ix9ine’s energy is palpable as he walks out of jail accompanied by attorney Lance Lazzaro.
He held Spongebob up to the camera, proudly displaying Maduro’s signature and the date written on it.
The moment captured something surreal: A rapper leaving a federal prison with the president’s autograph on a cartoon character, then immediately donning a thick diamond chain that shimmered in the morning light.
