J. Cole confirmed industry rumors about a fight with Diddy, but he won’t tell the story when the disgraced rap mogul is “down”.
During an interview on the Talk With Flee podcast, Cole revealed to Cam’ron that industry rumors about him fighting Diddy are actually true. While Cole didn’t elaborate on the incident, he said Puff and he were in a cool space.
Initially, Cole and his manager Ibrahim “Ib” Hamad recorded a podcast explaining how the fight came about, but it was put on hold due to Diddy’s legal woes and incarceration. The owner of Dreamville Records told Cam he wouldn’t tell the story because it felt like kicking someone when he was down.
“Just like me and Puff, no [beef]. Even after that we didn’t face any problem [incident],” he revealed. “It seemed to have been cleared pretty quickly and we’re in a good position.”
“But you know, Puff was on my song on Off-Season, so we’d put it out and think, ‘Yo, this is cool because enough time has passed that he won’t feel anything,'” he continued. “Then everything happened [Diddy]… I just thought, “No.” It felt like kicking someone when they were down, you know what I mean? ”
“It’s like it’s going to bring more ammunition to the news and the world [to] Ruin this guy,” he added. 「[But it] happened. “
So it looks like Diddy won’t hear J. Cole’s story until he gets out of jail. The Bad Boy Records founder is expected to be released from prison on April 25, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
