In a rare interview, Yetter talked about his new album, his friendship with Drake and working with YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
Apple Music premiered Yette’s exclusive video interview on its YouTube channel on Wednesday (March 25). The Los Angeles rapper hasn’t given an interview in five years, but he’s decided to break up with Zane Lowe ahead of the release of his new double album ADL (A Dangerous Lyfe/A Dangerous Love). Speaking of which, Yetter claimed in an interview that his new project will set the tone for his music career.
“This album kind of set the tone for the rest of my career,” he said. “This is going to light the way for a lot of people. Especially a lot of my fans. I feel like it’s going to be a new precedent for my music. It’s a new tone.”
Elsewhere in the conference, the 26-year-old Rymer spoke about his friendship with Drake, who he said gave him an “eye-opening” perspective on how to keep a successful music career on track.
Yetter even spoke highly of another friend, NBA YoungBoy. When asked about YB’s lyrical assistance with Grimes on the ADL song “Face the Flame,” Yeat said, “Me and Top are cool. I love Top. He’s like a different person, he’s so real.”
“Like top is top. That’s why he’s with me. It’s another real connection, friendship,” he added.
Yette’s new project ADL (A Dangerous Lyfe / A Dangerous Love) will arrive at DSP on Friday (March 27).
