Desnigner was arrested in South Carolina for domestic violence.
The Brooklyn, N.Y., rapper was booked into the Horry County Jail in South Carolina on Monday (March 23), according to police records obtained by XXL on Wednesday (March 25). He faces one count of third-degree domestic violence. The rapper was released on $1,500 bail on Tuesday (March 24).
The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on March 2, according to a police report obtained by TMZ. The alleged victim, the mother of the rapper’s child, told police that DeSigna, born Sidney Selby, came home angrily that day and began yelling at her and throwing car keys. When she tried to leave, Designer allegedly snatched her keys and tore her sweatpants in the process.
She went on to claim that DeSigna grabbed their child, put the child in a car seat, and when she tried to stop him, DeSigna pushed her to the ground. The altercation reportedly left her with minor abrasions on her arms and waist. Police said the child did not see the incident. The woman said she called police, but when they arrived, Designer had fled the scene. He was eventually arrested on Monday.
Desiigner infamously had a run-in with the law back in 2023 when he was arrested for exposing his identity on an international flight. In that incident, he pleaded guilty to indecent exposure of genitals in a public place and was sentenced to two years’ probation.
XXL has reached out to Desiigner’s team and the Horry County Sheriff’s Office for comment.
