Roddy Ricch faced backlash on social media after a viral video saw him fixing chains at a hotel instead of opening his girlfriend’s car door.
Roddy Ricch went viral for all the wrong reasons over the weekend after a hotel video showed him prioritizing his jewelry over basic etiquette.
On March 14, the Compton rapper got out of his car and immediately began fiddling with the chain instead of helping his girlfriend out.
Social media users went out of their way to mock him, with one X user writing: “Rody Ricch always prioritized chains over chivalry.”
The clip immediately sparked debate online about what happened in those seconds.

Defenders quickly stepped in to clarify the situation. Multiple users pointed out that when Richie reached the side of the vehicle, his girlfriend had already opened the door herself.
Roddy Ricch’s personal life has been under scrutiny before. He has a daughter, Navy, born in 2024, with Timaera, and a son, Kadence, with ex-partner Allie Kay in April 2020.
Over Easter last year, he posted a photo with Navy but did not include Cadence, leading Ellie Kay to publicly rebuke him.
Roddy Ricch responded on Instagram Stories, writing: “Yes I support my two kids. No I won’t give it to you if you believe it.”
On the music front, Ritchie’s third album, The Navy Album, is still pending. The project was originally scheduled for December 2024 but was postponed multiple times without explanation.
