Swizz Beatz owes the IRS more than $5.7 million in unpaid federal taxes and is also fighting a separate $7.3 million lawsuit related to the 1MDB corruption scandal.
The Grammy-winning producer was issued the latest tax lien in January 2026 for $1,242,984 in unpaid 2024 income taxes, according to the New York Post.
Add in outstanding liens he filed in 2022 and 2023 totaling $4,482,273, and the 47-year-old music mogul faces a staggering $5,725,257 federal tax bill.
Swizz Beatz business manager Jeffrey Feinman called the tax debt “old news” and claimed there were “some contentious issues” as producers worked to resolve the issue.
Alicia Keys remains unnamed in any tax liens filed against her husband of 14 years.
The Bronx-born producer’s financial troubles extend beyond tax matters and involve federal court proceedings related to Malaysia’s massive 1MDB corruption scandal.
A federal judge in October 2025 denied Swizz Beatz’s motion to remove himself as a defendant, forcing him to proceed with a lawsuit over $7.3 million allegedly tied to fugitive financier Jho Low.
Liquidators claim Swizz Beatz received the controversial funds through shell companies controlled by Low Taek Jho, who is accused of being the mastermind behind the $7.65 billion 1MDB fraud.
Court documents show the producer owns Andy Warhol’s “Round Jackie,” which Jho Low allegedly gave him as a gift in 2014 and which was later recovered by the Justice Department as part of the 1MDB investigation.
The music executive maintains his innocence over the 1MDB charges, with his lawyers saying all payments were received “without actual fraudulent intent”.
This is the producer’s third major tax crisis since 2008, when he and ex-wife Mashonda Tifrere accumulated $2.6 million in federal liens in New York, Georgia and California.
He previously settled a $655,785 IRS debt in 2016 for unpaid taxes from 2009, 2014 and 2015.
Despite mounting legal bills, the producer continued his expensive hobby, reportedly spending millions to buy more than 50 racing camels for his “Saudi Bronx” team to race in the Middle East.
