Flavor has announced plans to host a huge celebration for the U.S. women’s hockey team in Las Vegas after President Trump criticized the team’s recent performance.
Just hours after the team was publicly mocked by the former president on social media, the “Public Enemy” hypeman stepped up with his own proposal.
Flavor Flav’s statement was posted on his official Instagram account, where he shared a video message directly to the athlete. He promised that if the team accepted his invitation, he would cover all expenses for a weekend celebration at one of Las Vegas’ top venues.
“These women deserve respect and recognition for representing our country,” Flav said in a social media post. “I want to show them what true American support is.”
Trump’s comments came after the U.S. women’s hockey team earned a thrilling victory over Canada 2-1 in overtime at the Olympics.

Surprisingly, the U.S. men’s hockey team also defeated Canada by a score of 2-1. However, Trump only called the men’s team to congratulate them, and when he did, he demoted the women’s team to second place.
Trump invited the group to attend his State of the Union address and even offered to send a private jet to pick them up.
“I have to tell you, we have to bring a women’s team, you know that. I do believe I could be impeached [if he didn’t invite them],” Trump snickered.
The comments sparked immediate backlash from sports commentators and hip-hop artists who support athletes.
Flav provides luxury accommodations, dining experiences and entertainment for the entire roster and coaching staff. The rapper specifically mentioned wanting to highlight the team’s accomplishments rather than focus on any glaring shortcomings.
Some team members have already responded positively to the invitation via their personal social media accounts. Captain Sarah Johnson posted a message of thanks acknowledging Flav’s actions and expressing gratitude for the support.
This isn’t the first time Flavor Flav has supported an American athlete facing controversy.
He previously expressed support for Olympic sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson during his suspension and has made similar gestures to other competitors facing public criticism.
The festivities in Las Vegas will take place during the team’s next scheduled training break, possibly coinciding with their preparations for upcoming international matches.
Flavor Flav’s management team confirmed they are coordinating with USA Hockey officials to finalize event details by March 15.
