Franky Venegas begins 2026 in a cell at the Collier County Jail after being arrested for drug paraphernalia on New Year’s Eve. The Island Boy rapper can’t stay out of legal trouble.
The 25-year-old rapper was arrested Wednesday night in Naples on drug paraphernalia charges. Police booked him into the Collier County Jail without bail because he was already out on bond for a February shooting.
The latest arrests cap a difficult year for the two Island boys. Franky’s twin brother Alex also encountered major problems in 2025. Police detained Alex under Florida’s Baker Act for a mental health evaluation during the live broadcast.
The Baker Act allows police to detain a person for 72 hours if they believe they may harm themselves or others. Frankie was arrested in February during a traffic stop in a yellow Corvette.
Police said they found oxycodone pills and a gun without a serial number. They also found straws and a credit card with Frankie’s name on it. The drug charges were dropped, but the gun case remains open.
The brothers rose to fame in 2021 with their hit song “I’m an Island Boy.”
But fame brings more problems than success. Frankie had previously been arrested for domestic battery and driving without a license. Alex was also arrested multiple times.
2025 is going to be particularly bad for the pair. After months of bickering, they officially disbanded. Alex moved out and said they no longer worked together. Alex then had a mental health crisis that resulted in his being detained under the Baker Act.
Now, French has locked in 2026 again. He was detained for 24 hours as the shooting case was unsolved. The judge won’t let him hold bail until they figure out what to do about his February charges.
Frankie’s next court date has not yet been set. His attorney did not respond to a request for comment on the latest charges.
