Jennifer Lopez fired back at critics who questioned her outfit and age at the premiere of her new Las Vegas residency show “Up All Night: Live in Las Vegas” at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Tuesday.
The 56-year-old performer took a moment on stage to directly address the ongoing scrutiny of her style choices and public image.
“It’s funny, sometimes I do laugh at things, but they also do say some funny things,” she said, dismissing the online comments.
Lopez, who has long been a fixture in pop culture, doesn’t hold back when describing the various comments she’s received.
“One of the questions was, ‘Why does she always smile with her mouth open when she takes pictures?'” she said. “‘Why does she always do that? Why does she smile for photos like that? Why does she always dress like that? Why doesn’t she dress for her age?’ I was like, ‘Huh?'”
She then delivered a pointed rebuttal to recurring comments about her revealing outfit: “I told you if you had this booty you’d be naked too!”
The Bronx native also reflected on his personal experiences since first being stationed in Vegas from 2016 to 2018.
“It was all just a blink of an eye, wasn’t it? For those who were there 10 years ago on opening night,” she said. “At that time, I had only been married twice.”
She quickly corrected herself with a smile. “That’s not true. It was only once. It felt like twice,” she joked. “I’m just kidding.”
Lopez, who has been married four times, including to Ben Affleck from 2022 to 2025, told viewers she is in a better place now. “It’s all over and we’re just, boom, everything’s fine. Everything’s fine,” she said. “The good news is I’m learning, I’m growing. We’re in a happy time now.”
“Up All Night: Live in Las Vegas” opens on December 31, 2025, marking a new chapter in Lopez’s career and personal development.
