The Let’s Rap About It podcast – featuring Maino, Jim Jones, Fabolous and Dave East – takes aim at 50 Cent’s new freestyle release for Christmas.
On Thursday (December 25), the quartet dropped a new track called “Squatter’s Rights Freestyle.” On the track, the rapper-turned-podcaster had everyone spitting on 50 Cent’s track. Maino first started rapping Fif’s “Back Down.”
“These internet gangsters picked the right time to throw the ball/I got time today, a liar will find a way/I won’t back down, it’s not in my DNA,” Maynor gushed.
Next, Capo jumped on the mic and belted out a bar of “I’ll Whip Your Head In.”
“I’m not squatting in a building, I’m squatting in millions/These villains are watching my moves, I let them in [feelings],” Jones raps.
Next, Dave East joined. The Harlem, New York, rapper skated to The Massacre’s song “A Baltimore Love Thing.”
“Lately, I’m sipping, I’m getting mixed results/Putting you on the wall, no street teams/Always been a FTD thing,” he rhymes.
Loso takes last position and takes the toughest shots at 50 Cent
“These window shoppers ain’t the real police,” raps Fab, a callback to 50 Cent’s song “Window Shopper.”
“You know I got the power/Your shorty took a hot shower/Grabbed her trying to leave like Tasha shot Lala,” Fab continued, referencing power and 50 Cent’s child mother’s relationship with Diddy. “Sexy Myra, no you ain’t Allah/Y’all get to meet the Creator, and his name ain’t Taylor.”
The new freestyle competition comes a week after 50 Cent spoofed Maino, Jim, Dave and Fab. In response to disparaging comments on Pod about his new braggadocio documentary, Fif shared a voicemail purportedly from the owner of the building where Pod was recorded, who claims Jim is behind on rent for the space. 50 Cent threatened to pay the balance, which would make him a part-owner of the podcast. He also called Maynor, Jim, Dave and Fab “squatters.”
