Rapper Wiz Khalifa, known for his stoner rap songs, did something on the brand, albeit with dire consequences. According to TMZ, the artist was in Romania when he was caught with marijuana, which ultimately landed him in legal trouble.
In fact, Romania’s Court of Appeal in Constanta has sentenced the rapper to nine months in prison instead of the previously mentioned fine of 3,000 Romanian lei (approximately $700 USD). However, the rapper’s legal team is ready to appeal the verdict and find a more amicable compromise.
Regardless, Wiz did issue a public apology after being criticized for smoking on stage in the country. On social media site X, his apology read:
“The show last night was amazing. It was no disrespect to the country of Romania that I shined on stage. They respected me enough to let me go. I will be back soon. But next time there will be no big ass.”
Regardless of what some may consider this to be a reckless act, the nine month sentence appears to be disproportionate. What do you think?
