Blogger Milagro Gramz isn’t stopping from speaking out and criticizing the rapper over the loss of her lawsuit against Megan Thee Stallion.
On Monday (December 1), shortly after news broke that a jury had found Milagro “Gramz” Cooper guilty of defamation, promoting altered sexual depictions and intentional infliction of emotional distress, she took to Instagram Live to address the situation.
“I’m going to start making my mixtape because apparently the only place to bully people and talk shit and pop shit is in the studio,” Gramz said while throwing bass at Megan. “But in other places it’s forbidden. So I’m going to start my mixtape and make sure I put all my energy into my rapping and then put it out and let it be an artistic expression.”
Gramz went on to say that she is proud of herself for standing up for what she believes in, which is considered her right to free speech and report on topics she sees fit.
“I hope you can see the bigger picture and understand what new media is,” Gramz continued. “I hope you understand that there is value in what we do and the work we put in. Strong things are not built, they are born, you know? I’m glad I stood up for the things I believed in and stayed with them, and I don’t need other people’s approval of those things.”
During the live broadcast, Gramz blocked a user who said: “I heard you lost the lawsuit.”
The jury also found Gramz as a media defendant and awarded Meghan $75,000 in punitive damages. That amount could drop to $59,000 before a judge rules on Gramz’s status as a media defendant and the judge dismisses the defamation claim. The judge has not yet issued a final verdict, meaning the jury’s verdict remains in effect.
AsiliA law firm, which represented Milagro Gramz, issued a statement on December 1 following the jury’s verdict.
“Although many media outlets reported that Ms. Cooper was found liable for defamation, the court ultimately ruled that Ms. Cooper was not liable for defamation. Ms. Cooper ultimately prevailed against Ms. Pitt’s defamation conviction.” [Megan Thee Stallion] The main allegation was defamation, and the jury awarded only nominal damages, while Ms. Pitt sought millions of dollars in damages from Ms. Cooper throughout the proceedings. “
Legal reporter Megan Cunniff announced the verdict via live coverage from the Miami courtroom yesterday.
Meghan sued Cooper in October 2024, accusing him of defamation, promotion of altered sexual depictions and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Meghan accused the blogger of colluding with Tory Lanez and her father, Sonstar Peterson, to harass Meghan online and discredit her account of being shot by Tory in the summer of 2020. The smear campaign allegedly included spreading false rumors and sharing false videos depicting Meghan engaging in sexual acts.
