This is the seventh EP from Atlanta, Georgia emcee Jay NiCE and local dump gawd himself, Tha God Fahim. The pair have collaborated numerous times over the past few years, including on the collaborative album Strictly 4 My DUMPERZ in the spring of 2018 and the extended Bloodspiller three years ago. Produced by Nicholas Craven, Dump Gawd: Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap 12 becomes their greatest joint effort to date, completing Chapters 17, 18 and 20. Earlier today the 21st, they gave us another one when we least expected it.

“Powerful Blast” comes straight out of the gate, a rollicking drumless instrumental from Craven that talks about learning from scholars and strengthening your defenses; after “Soul” jazzily talks about them floating on sonics, “Statement of the Day” recalls the times they had to survive the darkest clouds with some sumptuous piano chords and a chipmunk soul sample.

Kicking off the second half of Dump Gawd: Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap 22, “The Price is Right” takes a funkier approach to beats, talking about how y’all are built for the genre they love, while “Your On Ya Own” blends jazz rap and boom bap to show they’ve got enough rhymes to stand up to humanity. Produced by Tha God Fahim himself, Assassin’s Hit List ends with a happy sampler about not wanting to waste time, which is why they were built.

It’s a bit jazzier than Dump Gawd: Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap 21, but I don’t like this track as much as the last few installments of the Endless Saga, and the previous track did come out an hour earlier, although it’s still a strictly hardcore collection of hip-hop tracks, influenced by boom bap as well as chipmunk soul and drumless. Back to what I said in my review of the last EP: none of the Jay NiCE and Tha God Fahim collaboration EPs we received were bad, I just liked some more than others.

Rating: 7/10
