Ice Spice entered the world of animation with her first voice role in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie: The Search for Squarepants, while also releasing the high-energy single “Big Guy,” written for the film’s soundtrack.

The Bronx rapper showcases her signature punchy beats on the upbeat track, which fits perfectly with the film’s playful tone.

“Woke up feeling my best/Big things are about to happen today,” she raps. “I bent over and did a little stretch/I woke up feeling a whole new way/Not a jellyfish, but I was a catch.”

The two albums mark a new chapter in the 25-year-old’s creative journey, expanding her brand beyond rap into film and voice-over work.

Ice Spice joins a star-studded cast that includes Regina Hall, Sherry Cola, Arturo Castro and George Lopez, all of whom were confirmed as new additions to the long-running Nickelodeon franchise in June 2025.

“Being a part of the SpongeBob SquarePants soundtrack is a complete moment for me,” Ice Spice said in a statement. “It’s crazy to see my music in a movie that was part of so many people’s childhoods, including my own.”

The song follows her recent releases “Pretty Privilege” and “Baddie Baddie,” the latter of which is her first solo single since the deluxe edition of her album Y2K!: I’m Just A Girl was released in December.

Produced by longtime collaborator RiotUSA, “Baddie Baddie” samples MIA’s 2012 hit “Bad Girls” and features a video directed by Evil Twins.

In addition to music, Ice Spice made her big screen debut this year in Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest, sharing scenes with Denzel Washington and A$AP Rocky.

She also collaborated with Latto on the song “Gyatt,” which symbolically ended their previously strained relationship.

“The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie: The Search for Cube Pants” will be released on December 17.
