Atlanta rapper Jeezy (Jay “Jeezy” Jenkins) has set a new Guinness World Record for largest orchestra at a hip-hop concert during his Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. His November 1 show featured a 101-member orchestra and earned the official accolade.
The performance — part of his TM: 101 Live residency celebrating the 20th anniversary of his album Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 — combined orchestral instrumentation with his signature trap-rap energy.
The feat is not only historic for hip-hop, but apparently for Las Vegas live-music shows across all genres.
